Our Itinerary

Day 1 - To Jinja, the Adventure Capital of East Africa

Welcome to Uganda, where your journey begins in the serene town of Entebbe, once the country’s capital. Upon arrival at the airport, our guide will greet you and accompany you to Jinja, renowned as the Adventure Capital of East Africa. Immerse yourself in the tranquil beauty as you embark on a leisurely afternoon boat cruise to the legendary Source of the Nile.

Day 2 - Thrilling White-water Rafting

Indulge in the exhilarating experience of rafting down the White Nile! Select between the adrenaline-pumping grade 5 rafting or opt for a more leisurely grade 3 excursion. Between the thrilling rapids, unwind in the tranquil stretches where you can take a refreshing dip in the river, savor the fresh fruit served by your guide, and admire the stunning scenery.

If that rush of adrenaline wasn’t enough for you, why not take it to the next level with bungee jumping over one of the rapids of the Nile?

Day 3 - To Kapchorwa at 1900 masl

Transfer to Kapchorwa, a small town perched at 1900 meters above sea level in the Mount Elgon massif, offering breathtaking views of the plains below. In the afternoon, join a local guide for an immersive coffee tour at a local peasant farm. Here, you’ll witness the complete journey of coffee cultivation and preparation, from planting the seed to harvesting, drying, and roasting the coffee beans. Finally, indulge in the satisfying experience of brewing and savoring a cup of freshly made coffee. This offers a unique and intimate glimpse into life amidst the challenging terrain of the mountain slopes.

Day 4 - Mosopisiek Trail

In the morning, embark on the two-day Mosopisiek Trail with your local guide. This hike starts at 2100 meters above sea level, and winds through villages and farmland, allowing you to explore caves nestled in the mountainside and picturesque waterfalls. As evening falls, you’ll reach a small village at 2700 masl where you’ll spend the night with a local family. Here, anticipate warm hospitality and savor fresh, locally produced food amidst the serene beauty of your surroundings. The hike is 12 km long, with moderate difficulty.

Day 5 - To Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve

Continue immersing yourself in the breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural heritage of the local communities along the trail. Fun fact: Did you know that all of Uganda’s gold-winning long-distance runners hail from this area? The second leg of the hike spans 15 kilometres, offering a moderate challenge. Upon completing the hike, your driver will pick you up and journey down the mountain to the vast Karamoja plains. There, you’ll check in to your accommodation in Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve

Day 6 - Full day safari in Pian Upe

Begin your day with a morning game drive across the expansive savannah of Pian Upe. With the sunrise as your backdrop, marvel at the stunning landscapes and keep your eyes peeled for the majestic lions, elusive leopards, swift cheetahs, towering giraffes, and a plethora of other wildlife including buffalos, roan antelope, and ostriches. In the evening, immerse yourself further in the wilderness as you join a ranger guide from the Uganda Wildlife Authority on a nature walk. This immersive experience brings you closer to nature, offering fresh opportunities to observe and appreciate the diverse animals that call the park home.

Day 7 - Through Karamoja to Mount Morungole

Embark on a scenic drive through the enchanting and remote landscape of Karamoja towards Mount Morungole. As you journey, relish in the stunning scenery and observe the daily routines of the Karimojong herdsmen, tending to their expansive herds of goats and cattle along the way. Along the route, make a stop at Nakapelimoru, the largest manyatta in East Africa, providing a unique insight into a lifestyle vastly different from our own.

Day 8 - Hiking Mount Morungole

Embark on a unique hike to Mount Morungole, the ancestral home of the fabled Ik people, Uganda’s smallest ethnic group. This trek promises dramatic landscapes and immersive encounters with the Ik culture. While the highest peak remains sacred and off-limits to visitors, you’ll ascend another summit to soak in breathtaking views of Kidepo Valley National Park. After the hike, return to your vehicle and journey onward to Kidepo Valley National Park.

Day 9 - Into the wild in Kidepo Valley National Park

Today, get ready to dive into one of Africa’s most breathtaking national parks! Kidepo Valley is remote and wild, offering unparalleled opportunities to encounter wildlife up close, all without the crowds of other tourists.

Day 10 - Uganda’s most scenic drive?

After an early morning game drive, you head southwards toward Alakara Guest House in the tiny village of Kobulin. The drive takes you through changing landscapes, and changing lifestyles, as the vast open grazing fields are replaced with green and fertile farmland. On arrival, you will be welcomed like a dear friend, and enjoy dinner, stories and conversations around the camp fire.

Day 11 - Enjoying village life

Enjoy a peaceful day in the village. Perhaps you simply want to relax in the hammock, with the sounds of chirping birds, bleating goat kids, and children playing in the distance serving as your soundtrack? If you’re still feeling adventurous, you can explore the village, lend a hand at the borehole to assist the village women and children in pumping water, learn how to cook local dishes, or even try your hand at playing traditional instruments

Day 12 - Enjoying village life

It’s time to head back to Entebbe. The journey spans about 8 hours, punctuated by a stop at Nyero Rock Paintings, one of Africa’s most well-preserved prehistoric rock art sites. Along the way, you’ll traverse vast swamps, pass through bustling urban centers, and perhaps indulge in a taste of the famous “roadside chicken” in Mabira Forest.

Day 13 - Departure from Entebbe

As your Ugandan adventure draws to a close, your driver will accompany you to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight. If your flight is scheduled for the evening, you have the option to enjoy a bicycle tour of Entebbe, a leisurely stroll in the botanical gardens, a relaxing day by the pool or at the beach, explore the town’s vibrant markets, or embark on an excursion to Mabamba Swamp to track the elusive shoebill stork.
